>> Can anyone help with helping me to find out how to fix the winder on the above camera. It is the MTL5 body only in perfect original condition that I have just been given. The winder lever does not move the film transport mechanism on. I don't want to poke around inside as it may be a simple issue that I am overlooking.

>>Are you talking about the lever that advances the film to the next frame? The one on the right as you are looking from behind the camera? If so, have you tried opening the camera back, by pull up the rewind lever that is on the other side of the camera. It is possible that someone pushed in the rewind button at the bottom of the camera. Opening the camera back may release the button and allow you to use the film advance. Just guessing here.

>>If that is not it--does your model have a self timer? That would be located under the shutter release. If it is not in the six o'clock position, it may need to be relased to allow you to trip the shutter and use the film advance. If it isn't one of these simple things--maybe we can brainstorm some more, or somebody else might have an idea. If the camera is jammed, it would cost more than it is worth to get it fixed.

Thanks John
I have tried the two things you mention but it hasn't freed the lever. Is their any way of dismantling the body to get at the internal mechanism ? I agree with your comment regarding cost of repairs but it seems a shame as the camera otherwise is in perfect condition.
