I'm an electronic engineer who has been a technician my whole life. I've become a bit disabled, and decided to persue camera repair. I'd like to fix the light meter on my Pellix, and don't know where to go for parts. I haven't found any Canon parts dealers. Would love some help. BTW, have found Selenium cells at Electronic Goldmine in Arizona. Product number A1073 is on sale, 3 different cells for 99 cents! Try sales.goldmine-elec.com to find them. I know my Zeiss Ikon Contessa will be happier real soon when mine come in! Thanks in advance, Hap.

Two goofs, both on my part: (1) The Electronic Gold Mine Selenium cells came in, and were ALL weak. I bought 15 of them and threw away at least a third of them. They won't power the meter on my Zeiss. (2) The Pellix doesn't HAVE an ASA ring...I looked in a repair book instead of inside the camera! The light meter circuit reads low until you get down to 1/15 sec or lower, then a "linearizing" resistor is (I assume) switched OUT of the circuit so the CdS cell seems to be more sensitive. I've traced out the circuit, but have been reluctant to dig out the Pellicle mirror to get to the circuitry. I'll just rebuild an old light meter instead for now! Thanks for the help! BTW, I replaced the Selenium cell with some silicon from Radio Shack (276-0124) but it's VERY difficult to break along a desired line, and you have to make up your own contact springs to use it, as it doesn't take solder unless you are much faster than I am at it.
