: I have a tripod with the name "Hansa" on the headset. I need a new set screw for mounting camera onto headset. Any idea where I can get such an item?

Most camera tripod sockets are tapped to accept a 1/4-20 thread, a very common size bolt which can be found in any US hardware store. The problem is that tripod bolts have a large knurled head which allows you to easily screw the bolt into the camera, and the best tripods employ a second ring which is used to tighten the camera to the platform. Take a look at any good tripod head and you'll see what is needed. While a home craftsman could invent the necessary hardware, it would be easier to simply pirate the bolt, the secondary ring and the keeper (which keeps the bolt attached to the head) from a damaged and otherwise useless tripod. Look for one at thrift stores.
