George... I have 4 Epson printers. The one I use for most photo printing is my Epson Stylus-Photo 1200 (I have 2). It prints up to 1200 DPI. I usually print photos at 720 DPI. If it's a critical photo that I want to display, I use the 1200 DPI setting. The other 2 printers will print 2880 DPI, but I almost never use that. It seems to me that anything over 1200 DPI is overkill (as far as I can tell). Also the Stylus-Photo 1200 seems to do a better job because of the 6-color cartridge (plus black).
