: Hi everyone,
: I recently bought a new Cosina 28-210 AF 3.5-5.6 for Canon EOS.
: The problem: the autofocus works fine and the camera gets focus lock
: only when the subject is at 15-20 mt. from camera or less, but when the
: subject is very distant, the focus ring goes to infinite, the focus point
: lights and beep sounds both very shortly, and the focus indicator in the
: viewfinder blinks, so I can't take the shot cause the shutter won't fire
: until focus is locked. This happens in bright daylight, not depending on
: light conditions, subject contrast, focal length, or any other question.
: When I change the subject to a nearest one, sometimes it works,
: sometimes doesn't, and when it does the focus ring makes a small movement.
: I know I can always turn switch of the lens in manual focus and take the
: shot, or go to another AF mode than one shot.
: My question: is it related to this kind of hyperzooms, a quality item,
: third party equipment? Any idea?
: Thanks!
: Frank if otherlenes work fine at infinity then
I would think the problem is with your lens. If
you bought the lens used it might have been worked
on before and the fornt lens is out of adjustment.
