: After I went to a beach, the shutter on my 9000 no longer work properly. The mirror still flips but the shutter (the curtain) does not open anymore when I advance the film normally. ( I took the lense off and looked into the hole directly) Film has no exposure.
: Only after I advance the film very slowly, then the shutter opens and I can take picture.
: Anybody knows what I can do to fixed this problem?
: Thanks

The camera probably needs to be professionally cleaned. I would hesitate taking any prized camera to the beach. Get yourself an old dinosaur screw mount manual camera for under $40 and shoot away, change film, beat it around and have fun. Or get a cheap weather resistant point and shot or a one time use camera. There is just so much salt and sand at the beach, it is a disaster waiting to happen for you camera. You can actually get some pretty good pictures with these lowly creatures :)
