Hi tony:
You won't be using the auto settings with the flash. In manual mode, set your shutter to the synch speed (1/125 I think); as for the aperture, your flash unit has a calculator dial on which you select your ISO film speed and which autoflash range you're using (these are usually color coded, and there are usually from 2 to 4 choices)... select the aperture indicated on the dial for the auto range you are using, and the flash will take care of the rest.
You will notice that the auto range settings which allow the greatest working distance also require the widest apertures.
