It's not going to compare to the quality of a Canon lens. But, for me a fisheye is not the sort of thing I'm likely to use enough to justify that kind of expense, so I'd go for the cheaper option first, just to see if it was something I wanted to pursue that seriously. It does put a fair amount of weight on your filter thread, so use it carefully.
