I have the same camera and the same problem. A very honest camera repair technician in Fort Lauderdale estimated the problem and the cost over the phone to me; it would be about a $140 repair. C&M Photo Service, Tamarac FL, 954-722-0215. They are VERY reputable. Personally, I'm going to buy another camera rather than fix that one!!! Mine's an '92 model.
