: Anyone know about the quality of a Mir 26 3.5/45mm lens fitting a Pentacon 6x6 compared to say a Zeiss f4/50mm lens?

John:
I would go for the Carl Zeiss Jenna.
The lens you mention, the Carl Zeiss Jena Distagon 50mm f/4 stands in a class by itself. In fact I have it for my Hassellblads and enjoy it very much.
Great moderate wide angle, good contrast, crisp and razor sharp edge to edge.
From my personal point of view, the Mir lenses belong in another group with the Kalinar, Jupiter, Arsat, Vega, Zodiak and others, although I have no first hand experience with them.
