The LOMO KOMPAKT AVTOMAT is a russian camera that has a few
followers. I would not expect much from this camera. There are
two models, one 8mm, one 35mm, both have 40mm lenses f/4 and
shutter speeds up to 1/250 of a sec. The first one sells for
about US$15, and the second for less, $12

reveals the low quality of the lens of the Lomos toy plastic

It would be like buying a Zenit or a Kiev camera. Not high
optics. Maybe to have some fun. But, if a picture is worth
taking, why not with the best tools you can afford?
But then, that is my personal opinion, and although there is very
little chance I could be wrong on this, I can always be ......
