: Im new to this but would like to do some natural light prtraits in Black & White. Can anyone give me some adviice..lens settings film etc
Rather a big order, but I'll give it a try. This what I do.
- A high speed BW film (tri-x, no t-max)
- contrast lowering developer
- 35mm
- longer telelens ( at least 135 mm, better 200 mm or plus )
- keep the aperture nearly open
- low contrast light or open shadow
- reflections screen ( if you have someone to hold them)
- keep the make up natural
- keep the styling natural
And this is what I don't
- no harsh light (not in the bright midday sun)
- no hard make up
- no extreme styling
- no on camera fill in flash
- no mirror as reflection screen
You can check my websites, Intro page and Water page, to see how it works out for me
